FIELD: non-destructive testing of damage to materials.
SUBSTANCE: essence of the invention lies in the fact that the damage of the material is determined by the change in the time delays of the shear wave in two mutually perpendicular directions in the intact and in the damaged material, using the following expression:
Where ΔBε is the change in the acoustic anisotropy parameter associated with damage to the material during plastic deformation, ΔB is the overall change in the acoustic anisotropy parameter.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of reducing the error in determining material damage by the ultrasonic method.
