FIELD: testing equipment.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the determination of the susceptibility of rolled metal to bending. The method consists in the excitation of a shear transverse polarized acoustic wave and its launch into rolled metal by means of an electromagnetic-acoustic converter device in the form of a flat inductor coil made with the possibility of launching and receiving waves placed at an angle of 45 degrees with respect to the direction of rolling. The received bottom signals are summed up, the wave accumulation time is at least 100 microseconds, the signals are compensated using a primary converter, the signal compensation time is determined by means of a signal processing unit, the envelope of the amplitude graph is constructed, according to the parameters of which the voltage level is judged. The result is output as a map of the density distribution of mechanical stress levels.
EFFECT: realization of the possibility of determining the susceptibility of rolled metal to bending by increasing the reliability of determining the magnitude of the microstructural anisotropy of the mechanical characteristics of sheet metal while monitoring the entire cross section of the metal and the entire area of the object of control at a high speed of movement of the object of control.
