FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to eliminate the gas blowout during offshore drilling, as well as in land wells. The method is based on the conversion of gas into a gas hydrate state by cooling it. At the same time, when drilling a supposed dangerous interval with an abnormally high reservoir pressure, behind the casing pipe through which gas flows, an upper section is left with a depth h, depending on the expected gas flow rate, heat exchange area and temperature difference, by which it is necessary to lower the gas temperature to convert it into gas hydrate condition, not cemented to create an artificially cooled interval by installing additional pipes for pumping antifreeze coolant 65 by the chiller. The depth h is determined by the above mathematical formula.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of liquidation of a gas blowout in offshore conditions by creating an artificially cooled interval for taking heat from the blowing gas and transferring it to the gas hydrate state.
