FIELD: instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: registration of low filtration rates in the range from several tens to hundredths (or less) of cubic centimeters per day. The flow meter for ultra-low fluid flows includes a controlling and a measuring part, while the measuring part contains a receiving chamber equipped with an inlet for feeding the filtrate and an outlet connected to a measuring tube with an open end, equipped with two pairs of electrodes installed in the internal volume of the measuring tube at a certain distance from each other and connected to the control part of the flow meter, a purge valve connected to the compressor forcing air and installed opposite the outlet of the receiving chamber, and the control part is a microcontroller that controls the elements of the flow meter and is configured to register the resistance on the pairs of electrodes when they are closed by the filtrate. The data measured using this flow meter can be used to assess the permeability of samples of low-permeability rocks and building materials of various compositions.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of automatic registration of ultra-low volumetric flow rates (up to 10-2-10-5 and less cm3/min) of liquid.
