DEVICE FOR TRAINING BINOCULAR VISION AND METHOD OF USING IT Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61F9/00 A61H5/00

Abstract RU 2803543 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a device for training binocular vision and a method of training with its help. The device includes an apparatus for training binocular vision and a control unit. The device contains a working part and a chin rest with the ability to adjust to the size of the patient's face, as well as a support plate. On the front panel of the working part there are two holes for the eyes and a hole for the nose. The front part of the body bottom and lid has a concave headrest. Two vertical slots are formed in the rear wall of the housing, while in the near vertical slot there is a movable nozzle made with two straight slots, one of which is made vertically and the other is made horizontally. In the middle of the straight slots there are keyhole-shaped slots for a double-sided key. Spotlights are located in the far vertical slot of the rear wall of the case. LED strips are attached to the inside of the rear wall of the case with the ability to blink. On both sides of the longitudinal partition, backlight LEDs are attached to the bottom of the housing with the ability to illuminate the slots of the movable nozzle. The control unit contains an electronic circuit that ensures the operation of the device according to a computer program, which includes a board, an encoder with the ability to change data and settings, a piezo emitter with the ability to send an audio signal, a connecting cable connected to spotlights, LED strips, backlight LEDs and a power adapter. The front panel of the control unit contains the following: a display, an encoder shaft, buttons for controlling the spotlights and the current blinking cycle. To train binocular vision, the height of the working part and the chin rest is adjusted to the size of the patient’s face. Then the brightness of the LED strips on the control unit; light time; number of blinking cycles of LED strips; interval between them are also adjusted. The patient's chin is placed on the chin rest, the movement of the forehead is limited by the head support, the position of the eyes and nose is correlated with the holes intended for them. When the patient is positioned in such a way that the gaze of each eye is directed to the center of the slot in the form of a keyhole for a double-sided key, located in the center of a straight slot on the movable nozzle, two lights are made — one for each eye by turning on the spotlights, for which the corresponding buttons are turned on and off control the spotlights on the front panel of the control unit for a specified time. The LED strips are turned on and the countdown timer is started by turning on the corresponding control buttons for the current flashing cycle for a predetermined time. When the number of flashes reaches the number of flashes set in the settings, the piezo emitter emits a customized signal indicating the end of the course of flashes.

EFFECT: quality and convenience of training binocular vision is improved due to the design features of the device and the possibility of automating the training process.
