FIELD: pipe rolling production.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to tools for piercing mills, and can be used on helical rolling mills. When manufacturing a water-cooled piercing mill mandrel in the form of a two-layer hollow body, an inner body is made of carbon steel and an outer hollow body is made of chromium-nickel steel. The inner body is installed in the outer hollow body and they are crimped together to form a rear conical section of the mandrel. The stamp contains positions for upsetting the initial workpiece for the inner body of the mandrel and extrusion stamping to obtain the inner body, upsetting the initial workpiece for the outer hollow body and extrusion stamping to obtain the outer hollow body and open stamping for joint crimping of the body and the inner body installed in it.

EFFECT: durability of the mandrel is increased and technological process of its manufacture is simplified.
