FIELD: medical devices.

SUBSTANCE: method for selecting an elastic venous fixation orthosis designed to be put on lower limb (M) of the patient. A method is proposed that contains the following steps: 1) taking photograph (P) representing the skin of said limb and calibration card (10) containing one or more calibration zones (12), the calibration card being located on said limb in a position called "shooting position"; 2) calibrating photograph (P) with calibration zone or zones (12) so that the representation of said skin in the photograph shows the calibrated colour, and then selecting, depending on the calibrated colour, by means of computer (22) and from a set of tone scale colours, a tone scale colour, preferably a tone scale colour closest to the calibrated colour and called an "optimum colour", and then determining, by computer, an orthosis colour depending on the selected tone scale colour; 3) selection of an orthosis showing the specified colour of the orthosis.
