SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in wide-range radio receiving and radio transmitting devices to generate a grid of stable frequencies. A wide-range frequency synthesizer with phase-locked loop control of a controlled oscillator with switchable resonators additionally comprises a set of resonators (8) and a set of capacitors (9) of the oscillating system in a wide-range VCO (7) used to provide several overlapping ranges of operating frequencies of the generator, as well as two groups of controlled switches (Sw1.1÷Sw1.N and Sw2.1÷Sw2.N). The desired operating frequency is selected by connecting the appropriate resonator and capacitors of the oscillating system by switching the switches. The entire range of operating frequencies of the generator using several switchable dielectric resonators is divided into a number of sub-ranges, within which a smooth frequency adjustment is carried out using a variable-capacitance diode (D1) included in the resonant circuit.

EFFECT: expanded range of operating frequencies of the synthesizer and increased speed and spectral purity of the output signal while maintaining its phase stability by reducing the level of phase noise and side discrete components in the spectrum of the output signal by switching high-quality dielectric resonators and capacitors of the oscillatory system in the circuit of a single voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO).
