FIELD: geophysical research.
SUBSTANCE: cable tips – devices for mechanical and electrical connection of downhole instruments with an armoured geophysical cable. The device includes a tip body into which a coupling is screwed along a thread, a bushing with a head, retaining rings, a large cone, a small cone, and an electrical input housing. In the electrical input housing, plug tips are secured using threaded connections, to which a composite connector is attached. The composite connector consists of a body with external threads at the ends, which are limited by rubber sealing rings, and two hollow bushings with internal threads screwed onto the connector body. The housing is equipped with mating socket tips, secured at the ends of the housing using threaded connections for connection to plug tips. Also connected to the composite connector is an input for the cable cores, equipped with plug tips secured in it using threaded connections at one end and a rubber sealing ring at the other end.
EFFECT: increased service life, improved reliability of the device increases, and work safety.
