SUBSTANCE: metal detector with non-contact communication with a measuring sensor contains a metal detector measuring sensor and a calculation, control, and indication unit located in separate housings. The measuring sensor includes a measuring generator with an inductance coil in the oscillating circuit, a battery, a wireless data exchange device, a digital pulse parameter converter configured to measure the parameters of the output signal of the measuring generator, and a voltage stabilizer connected at the input to the battery and at the output to digital converter of pulse parameters, measuring generator and wireless data exchange device. The calculation, control, and indication unit includes means of input and indication of information, a microcontroller, a wireless data exchange device, a battery, and a voltage stabilizer connected at the input to the battery, and at the output to a microcontroller, a wireless data exchange device and means for input and indication of information . Wireless data exchange devices are configured to transmit and receive data via a radio channel and/or an optical channel and/or an acoustic channel.
