FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: carton device for grouping and transporting a set of beverage cans forming a package, which allows a consumer to lift and handle a plurality of cans. A carrier device (1) is proposed for grouping and transporting a set of beverage cans (A) with the formation of a package, and the cans are of the type with a conical upper part (a) of the body with a raised upper ring (b) defining the upper plane (c). The device is made from a single layered body having a receiving opening for each can, the contour of which has a series of retaining ribs placed under the raised ring of the can when the device is installed on a plurality of cans to form a package. The device provides strong grip capability using a small amount of media, allows cans to be grouped without side protruding material, and provides a continuous top surface that protects the cans and increases the top area available for promotional printing. The carrier (1) contains an upper central region (10) located at a level above the upper plane (c) of the cans (A); the clamping flanges (20) surround and fit snugly against the conical portion (a) of the can body (A) and have a cover (21) with proximal rising ends (22); a series of radial cuts (40) forming two types of containment flaps (50), with each retention flap (30) containing a perimeter contour (31) created by a polygonal elliptical cut line (32) which in turn creates a cover flap (60) that remains attached and coplanar to the central region (10) of the device (1); and transition portions (70) that extend obliquely downward as a continuation of the upper central region (10) and are laterally connected to the proximal ends (22) of the flanges (20).
EFFECT: creation of a carrier device for grouping and transporting a set of beverage cans, using a small amount of material, cheap to manufacture, easy to assemble and capable of withstanding fracture stresses despite the use of only biodegradable material such as cardboard.
