FIELD: medical chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method for producing a thiomethylphenol derivative of chemical formula 1:
Chemical formula 1
,
where each of R1 and R2 is independently selected from hydrogen, deuterium, C1-C16 straight or branched alkyl group, C5-C16 cycloalkyl group or aromatic alkyl group, -CH2SR3, each R3 and R4 are independently selected from C1-C16 straight or branched chain alkyl group, C5-C16 cycloalkyl group or aromatic alkyl group, each of R11 and R22 is independently selected from hydrogen, deuterium , C1-C16 straight or branched alkyl group, C5-C16 cycloalkyl group or alkyl group containing aromatic compounds, n is 0 or 1, which can be used as an antioxidant in polymeric materials, rubbers and oils. The method includes the following stages: a) carrying out the primary reaction of a phenol derivative represented by the following chemical formula 2:
Chemical formula 2
,
a mercaptan derivative represented by the formula R4SH and paraformaldehyde at an interaction temperature T1 under conditions where a heterocyclic base having 3 to 10 carbon atoms and an acid are present simultaneously; and (b) performing a secondary reaction at a reaction temperature of T2 to obtain a thiomethylphenol derivative. Moreover, at stage (a) 0.01 to 0.50 equivalents of base per 1 equivalent of phenol derivative, 2.0 to 6.0 equivalents of mercaptan derivative per 1 equivalent of phenol derivative, 2.0 to 6.0 equivalents of paraformaldehyde are used per 1 equivalent of a phenol derivative and, in this case, the following condition is met: 95°C<T1+5°C<T2<120°C.
EFFECT: providing a method for obtaining a thiomethylphenol derivative, which further reduces the discoloration of the final product, increases the stability and environmental friendliness of the purification process, as well as the energy efficiency of the process as a whole.
