FIELD: herbicides.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of broad-spectrum herbicides with penetrating ability, specifically to a method of producing L-glufosinate from an L-homoserine derivative. The method includes step (a) obtaining compound 2 from compound 1 and step (b) obtaining compound 3 from compound 2. Stage (a) includes stage (a-1) of obtaining compound 2 by performing a reaction of compound 1 with a halogenating agent, at least one R2OH and compound 5, and the content of R2OH is from 1 to 60 equivalents based on 1 equivalent of a compound of Formula 1, wherein Compound 1 is prepared from a fermentation liquid containing a precursor of a compound of Chemical Formula 1.

where in the above formulas: R1 represents Ra-(C=O)-, where Ra represents hydrogen, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or heteroaryl group, R2 represents hydrogen, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, a cycloalkyl, aryl or heteroaryl group, or -Si(Rb)(Rc)(Rd), where Rb, Rc and Rd independently represent a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl or aryl group, R3 and R4 independently represent hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl group, R5 is hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl group, and substituents of an alkyl group, alkenyl group, alkynyl group, cycloalkyl group, aryl group and heteroaryl group are independently from each other are groups selected from hydrogen, halogen, carboxyl group (-COOH), amino group (-NH2), nitro group (-NO2), cyano group (-CN), alkyl group having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, an aryl group having 6 to 10 carbon atoms; and a cycloalkyl group having 3 to 10 carbon atoms.
EFFECT: provision of a simple method of obtaining glufosinate with high optical purity and high yield of the target product.
