FIELD: vehicle engineering.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions is related to embodiments of a central pillar for a vehicle and a method for its manufacture. The middle pillar has a reinforcing element (30) configured to be attached to the profile (10) to form a middle pillar for the vehicle. The profile (10) has fastening areas (22, 24) for door hinges. The reinforcing element (30) is made of two elongated strips (32, 34) of material. The strips (32, 34) are connected to each other in at least one fastening area (22) for door hinges when the reinforcing element (30) is attached to the profile (10). The profile (10) has a trough shape with a central shelf (12) and two side sides (14, 16). Each strip (32, 34) is attached to a transition region (36, 38) between the central flange (12) and the side (14, 16). The present invention is also related to a method for manufacturing the middle pillar and the middle pillar manufactured using this method.
EFFECT: weight of the middle pillar is reduced and its manufacturing is simplified.
