SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for assessing the quality of electricity, and can be used in electrical networks and power supply systems to determine the location of unbalance sources in a three-phase electrical network. The method includes measuring the negative sequence voltage and determining the share contribution according to the calculation formula, in which, in order to improve accuracy and efficiency, the negative sequence current and three phase shift angles between the vectors are additionally measured during continuous operation of the consumer, one of which is between the linear voltage vector and the linear current vector, the other - between the same linear current vector and the negative sequence current vector, the third - between the same linear voltage vector and the negative sequence voltage vector. The rated voltage of the network and the share contribution of the consumer to the asymmetry are determined. The ratio between the measured values of the negative sequence voltage and the negative sequence current is determined, this ratio is the impedance of the circuit section between the measurement point and the unbalanced load switching point. Using the impedance value, the distance between the measurement point and the switching point of the distorting load is calculated.
EFFECT: determining the location of sources of voltage unbalance in the AC electrical network.
