SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protection devices against breakage of the secondary circuits of the current transformer, capable of operating in automatic mode to limit the formation of overvoltages in the event of a break and overload in the secondary circuits of the current transformer and restore the normal operation of the current transformer after the fault has been eliminated. This makes it possible to create a device for protection against breakage and overload of the secondary circuits of the current transformer, capable of automatically switching the secondary winding short in the event of a malfunction in the secondary circuits of the current transformer and automatically restoring the original mode when eliminating the malfunction in the secondary circuits of the current transformer with the possibility indication of the operation of the protection device during its operation. The device comprises an AC switch, an AC switch circuit, and a device operation indicator. To connect the device, the output terminals of the secondary winding of the current transformer are used. It is possible to work with current transformers of any type, it is possible to configure the device by changing the parameters of the circuit elements. The device is capable of automatic switching of the secondary winding short in case of a fault in the secondary circuits of the current transformer, such as overload and break, as well as automatic restoration of the original mode when the fault is eliminated with an indication of the operation of the protection device.

EFFECT: no influence of the device on the secondary circuits of the current transformer and on the mode of operation of the current transformer in normal mode.
