FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of electrical engineering and can be used in electric power plants that convert thermal energy into electrical energy. The technical result is achieved in a method of magnetohydrodynamic conversion of thermal energy into electrical energy of a closed cycle, including the creation of a working fluid flow, the flow of the working fluid through the field created by the magnetic system of the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) generator, and through the electrodes located in the field of the MHD generator to remove electrical power, the flow of the working fluid is created in a closed circuit to ensure its circulation or acoustic vibrations, an alkali metal solution in ammonia or amine is used as the working fluid, which is brought to the state of supercritical fluid.
EFFECT: technical result consists in the creation of a method and devices for the magnetohydrodynamic conversion of thermal energy into electrical energy of a closed cycle, characterized by simplicity and compactness of design and energy efficiency.
