FIELD: conversion of heat energy of fuel and/or heat energy saved in air to electricity. SUBSTANCE: hybrid-propellant engine incorporates magnetohydrodynamic generator designed to provide for reception of coherent light generated due to electric stimulation, heat induction, and/or gas expansion and for its focusing towards gas discharge plasma moving between magnets and current-collecting plates. Generator incorporates provision for checking composition of laser gas mixture and controlling it in case of inevitable loss in the course of operation when discordant gas molecules, especially CO2, occur. EFFECT: improved efficiency and index of energy conversion. 11 cl, 4 dwg
