FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of hot-rolled armour plate used as a material for individual bulletproof and fragmentation protection, as well as for the protection of lightly armoured vehicles. Sheet steel contains components in the following ratio, wt.%: carbon 0.14–0.20, silicon 0.40–0.60, manganese 1.70–1.90, vanadium 0.08–0.14, aluminium 0.05–0.07, nitrogen 0.023–0.025, sulphur 0.045–0.050, phosphorus no more than 0.03, iron the rest. The steel structure is a natural ferrite-martensite composite, consisting of alternating layers of strong martensite and ductile viscous ferrite.
EFFECT: increase in the bullet resistance of the armour plate.
