FIELD: ice protection structures.
SUBSTANCE: devices for protecting bridge tower supports. A modular metal knife-edge telescopic ice cutter is made of several free-standing modules that have the same length, width and inclination of cutting ribs and are located on the common axis of the ice cutter, and supports at a certain distance from each other. The head module is a collapsible wedge-shaped ice cutter. In subsequent modules, the lower ends of the cutting ribs are located below the upper ends of the cutting ribs of the previous modules. All the ice cutter modules are constructed from three rows of vertical composite telescopic tubular screw piles, combined into rigid, stable structures by internal and external horizontal and inclined stiffeners made of steel strips or angles. The cutting ribs of all the modules, made of rolled steel angles of the same type, are placed on capped wooden beams of triangular cross-section, which in turn are laid on rotating U-shaped pile caps of the central row of each module. The frames of the knife-edge part of the modules are filled with steel sheets, and the frames of the cladding panels of the side walls of the modules are filled with steel sheets with perforations or round rods with gaps between them. The filling rods of the frames of the sheathing panels are rigidly connected to the internal planes of the corners by welding.
EFFECT: reduction in labour costs for assembling an ice cutter and possibility of its reuse to protect tower supports.
