FIELD: image forming devices; powder containers.

SUBSTANCE: powder container is to be attached to the powder transport device with the longitudinal direction of the powder container parallel to the horizontal direction. The powder conveying device includes a conveying nozzle which is provided with a powder receiving opening for receiving powder from a powder container and which is configured to convey the powder; an opening/closing element for opening and closing the powder receiving opening; a flange provided on the opening/closing element; a displacing element for displacing the opening/closing element to close the powder receiving opening; and a container mounting portion in which the powder container portion is to be installed. The powder container includes a conveyor located inside the powder container and configured to transport powder from a second end of the powder container to a first end along a longitudinal direction of the powder container; a container neck extending from the first end of the powder container; a nozzle receiving hole formed in the neck of the container into which a transport nozzle provided in the powder transport device is to be inserted; and a joint portion formed in the neck of the container and configured to abut the flange to allow movement of the opening/closing member to open the nozzle receiving opening. When attaching the powder container to the powder conveying device, the container neck is installed in the container mounting portion, and the flange and the biasing member are placed in the inner space of the container neck.

EFFECT: prevention of the spilled powder from scattering when removing the transport nozzle from the powder container.
