SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a powder container for storing a toner which is a powder used by an image forming apparatus such as a printer, facsimile machine, copier or multifunction peripheral with multiple functions of the printer, facsimile machine and copier, and also relates to an image forming apparatus including such a powder container. Claimed group of inventions includes a powder container for containing a powder used for imaging and an imaging device. Powder container comprises: an opening at one end of the powder container in the longitudinal direction of the powder container, a container gear for rotating at least a portion of the powder container, a protruding portion extending along the longitudinal direction of the powder container, the protruding portion including at least one surface for guiding the powder container and a protrusion that projects radially outwardly from the central longitudinal axis of the powder container and extends in the longitudinal direction of the powder container, wherein the protrusion is located downstream from the protruding portion, relative to the attachment direction of the powder container, and is located between the opening and the protruding portion, relative to the longitudinal direction of the powder container.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improving the functional characteristics of powder transfer from the powder container to the toner replenishment device and the ability to reduce the load due to the driving force transmitted by the drive gear of the container.
