SUBSTANCE: method for determining the remaining service life of a pipeline includes measuring the thickness of the layer of internal deposits in the pipeline and the actual flow rate in it. As a criterion for assessing the remaining service life of a pipeline, the coefficient of hydraulic efficiency of its operation is used, which takes into account the change in the hydraulic characteristics of the pipeline depending on the thickness of the layer of internal deposits. The value of the specified criterion is calculated taking into account the measured characteristics, the residual service life of the pipeline is determined by comparing the calculated value of the efficiency coefficient of its operation Keff with a threshold value selected on a scale of threshold values, including the first range of values - from 0.9 to 1, the second - from 0.8 to 0.9 and the third - less than or equal to 0.8. Moreover, if Keff lies in the first area, then the residual service life is no more than 5 years, if it lies in the second area - no more than one year, if it lies in the third area, the residual service life of the pipeline is exhausted.
EFFECT: making it possible to determine the residual service life of a metal pipeline for a sewer and heat pipe.
