FIELD: chemical technologies.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the methods for purifying associated petroleum gas from sulphur-containing compounds. The method involves mixing associated gas with impurities of sulphur-containing compounds and carbon dioxide with a sodium hydroxide solution, after which the mixture is passed through a primary desulfurization reactor. At this stage, the purified associated gas and the solution of a mixture of sodium sulphide, carbonate and sodium thiolates obtained by mixing are separated. The purified associated gas is removed from the reactor for subsequent use, and a solution of a mixture of sodium sulphide, carbonate and thiolates is mixed with sulphuric acid and fed to a sodium sulphate regenerator, where carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulphide, thiols and a sodium sulphate solution are separated. Next, sodium sulphate is fed into a membrane electrochemical cell, where it is subjected to electrolysis with separation into catholyte in the form of a solution of sodium hydroxide and anolyte in the form of a solution of sulphuric acid, hydrogen and oxygen formed in two different sections of the membrane electrochemical cell are removed, after which the catholyte is mixed again with the crude associated gas, and the anolyte with a solution of carbonates, thiolates, and sodium sulphides from the reactor to obtain sodium sulphate, which is again fed into the membrane electrochemical cell.
EFFECT: electrochemical purification of associated petroleum gas with cyclic recovery of the reagent and additional production of usable chemicals.
