FIELD: computer and network technologies.
SUBSTANCE: method for determining the boundaries of the regions of interplanetary space, the transitional layer of the magnetosphere and the magnetopause consists of transmission of the specific data necessary for study from a specific region of outer space, instead of broadcasting the entire flow of data measured by spacecraft instruments. Such concretization makes it possible to correct the technique for observing plasma properties in a given region without transmitting commands from the Earth.
EFFECT: reduction in computing resources with a simultaneous increase in the accuracy of the subsequent modelling of the magnetosphere and the transition layer for various states of the interplanetary medium.
