FIELD: geophysics.
SUBSTANCE: according to method, characteristics of magnetic H and electric E fields of surface-adjacent space are measured using separate sensors, mounted on spacecraft, at ascending and descending coils. Synthesized measurements matrix H×E is formed and dispersion ς2 of resulting vector R is calculated as well as its fractal dimension D. change of fractal dimension is tracked to series of measurements. Constant conditions of tracked process are determined, time constant T and final value D0. earthquake parameters are predicted as: strike time ts=4.7T, magnitude lg ty[day]≈0.54M-3.37, and hypothetical center as point of intersection of vectors of descending and ascending coils.
EFFECT: higher precision, higher reliability.
