FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions is intended for the preparation of an ophthalmic medicinal product. The stable liquid ophthalmic pharmaceutical composition contains a) at least one omega-3 fatty acid ethyl ester in a total amount of up to 5 wt.% inclusive of the total weight of the composition; b) liquid paraffin in a total amount of up to 1 wt.% inclusive of the total weight of the composition; wherein at least one omega-3 fatty acid ethyl ester and liquid paraffin are dissolved in a liquid carrier containing a partially fluorinated alkane selected from 1-perfluorohexyl-octane (F6H8) or 1-perfluorobutyl-pentane (F4H5). This liquid paraffin is a light liquid paraffin. The use of this composition as a medicinal product is also presented. In another embodiment, the following is provided: a kit including a container with the specified ophthalmic composition, a dosage agent and, optionally, instructions for use. Also the following is provided: a method for stabilizing a composition containing one or more omega-3 fatty acid ethyl esters, comprising the step of mixing one or more omega-3 fatty acid ethyl esters, liquid paraffin, and optionally one or more antioxidants with a partially fluorinated alkane to produce a stable, transparent and colorless solution, this liquid paraffin being a light liquid paraffin.
