FIELD: microwave technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to directional couplers. A frequency-tunable directional coupler containing a dielectric substrate, one surface of which is completely metallized, and the other contains four input transmission lines and four pairs of identical low-pass filters, consisting of inductive and capacitive elements connected to each other through tees, where the first input of the first low pass filter is connected to the first input of the device and the second input of the fourth low pass filter, the second input of the first low pass filter is connected to the second input of the device and the first input of the second low pass filter, the second input of the second low pass filter is connected to the third input of the device and the first input of the third low-pass filter, the second input of the third low-pass filter is connected to the fourth input of the device and the first input of the fourth low-pass filter. Under the capacitive elements of the low-pass filters there are cavities with a depth not exceeding the thickness of the substrate, inside of which movable dielectric plates are installed with the possibility of their free movement within the cavities.
EFFECT: expansion of the arsenal of miniature beamforming circuits, as well as a reduction in size, directional couplers and an expansion of frequency-tuning capabilities.
