FIELD: sealing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the methods and devices for sealing rotating shafts of rotary machines. The high-pressure flow is taken from the discharge cavity of the rotary machine and fed through the pressure regulator into the annular chamber. The flow swirls and narrows, and the flow speed at the exit from the annular chamber increases. The flow turns towards the discharge cavity with the formation of a vacuum, which prevents the flow from leaving the gap. An equalizing signal is supplied to the pressure regulator through the annular grooves of the gap. The magnitude of the vacuum in the annular gap changes, which prevents the flow from leaving the annular gap and suction from the outside of the shaft seal through the gap into the internal cavity of the rotary machine. When the direction of rotation of the shaft is changed to the opposite direction, the high-pressure flow through an additional pressure regulator is supplied to the annular chamber tangentially through an additional inlet directed towards the main inlet. The high-pressure flow swirls coaxially to the annular gap in the direction of the modified rotation of the rotor machine shaft. The control inputs of the main and additional pressure regulators are connected through amplifiers to signalling devices. The low pressure alarm contains a vacuum sensor. The pressure increase alarm contains a pressure sensor.
EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of the shaft seal of a rotary machine when changing the direction of rotation of the shaft, to simplify the design of the seal assembly.
