METHOD OF SURGICAL TREATMENT OF CHRONIC RHINOSINUSITIS IN PATIENTS WITH CYSTIC FIBROSIS Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61B17/24 A61N5/67 A61B18/18

SUBSTANCE: megaantrostomy is formed transnasally, and through the said megaantrostomy the entire mucous membrane of the maxillary sinus is removed. Visual control of the removal of the mucous membrane is carried out using a video fiberscope. Electrocoagulation of the mucous membrane is performed along the perimeter of the formed megaantrostomy. Then, a laser light guide with a wavelength of 0.89 μm is inserted into the maxillary sinus through the formed megaantrostomy and the sinus tissue is irradiated with a defocused beam with a power of 5 W for 1 minute. The next day after surgery, the projection of the anterior wall of the maxillary sinus is percutaneously irradiated with a focused laser beam with a wavelength of 0.89 μm and a power of 500 mW at 6 points for 20 seconds each, 2 times a day for 4 days.

EFFECT: method allows to perform surgical sanitation of the maxillary sinus in cystic fibrosis, reducing the frequency of relapses of chronic rhinosinusitis and increasing the time interval between surgical intervention and repeated surgery, improving the microbiological profile and reducing the degree of contamination of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses, and reducing the volume of the maxillary sinuses.
