METHOD FOR OBTAINING MATERIAL FROM THE MAXILLARY SINUS FOR MICROBIOLOGICAL EXAMINATION IN PATIENTS WITH CYSTIC FIBROSIS WHO UNDERWENT ENDOSCOPIC SURGICAL TREATMENT FOR CHRONIC RHINOSINUSITIS Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61B17/24 G01N33/48 A61M25/01

Abstract RU 2794083 C1

FIELD: medicine; surgery; otorhinolaryngology.

SUBSTANCE: sterile cannula with a lumen diameter of at least 3 mm and a length of not more than 120 mm is introduced into the postoperative defect to wash the maxillary sinus. A sterile probe with a viscose mini-tip and an applicator 135 mm long is inserted into the lumen of the cannula until it comes into contact with the walls of the maxillary sinus. After that, the cannula produces rotational movements. Then the applicator with the tip is removed from the cannula and placed in a container with a transport medium to deliver the material to the microbiological laboratory. After that, the cannula is removed from the maxillary sinus and nasal cavity.

EFFECT: method allows to obtain a reliable result of microbiological examination of material from the maxillary sinus in patients with cystic fibrosis, suffering from chronic rhinosinusitis and undergoing endoscopic surgical treatment for chronic rhinosinusitis, to determine the tactics of systemic and inhaled antibiotic therapy.
