FIELD: materials engineering.
SUBSTANCE: laminated glass that can be used to produce tinted windows, vehicle glass, and lenses capable of absorbing ultraviolet (UV) radiation and protecting against its effects. Multilayer UV-absorbing tinted glass contains the first glass sheet and the second glass sheet, which are connected to each other by a UV-absorbing tinted film containing the following components, wt.%: particles of asphaltenes extracted from heavy oil as a UV absorber and colouring agent - 5-30, oligomeric polybutylene with a molecular weight of 4500 g/mol - 28-38, as well as a mixture of two polyisobutylenes characterized by molecular weights of 1,100,000 g/mol and 51,000 g/mol - balance. The method for producing the described glass involves mixing all the starting components in a rotary mixer at 120°C, forming the mixed product into the said adhesive film of 130 mcm thickness by passing the mixed product, sandwiched between two anti-adhesive polyester films, between calender rolls heated to 120°C, and then cooled to room temperature, and bonding the glass sheets into laminated glass by releasing the moulded film from the anti-adhesive polyester films and bonding the glasses through adhesion of the UV-absorbing tinted film at the room temperature and the atmospheric pressure. To obtain laminated tinted glass with UV protection function, more than two glass sheets can be bonded together.
EFFECT: simplification of the method for producing multilayer UV-absorbing tinted glass, reduction of capital and operating costs, as well as utilization of asphaltenes as a by-product of deasphalting of heavy oil.
