FIELD: drilling instruments.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to drilling cutting inserts and drilling tool assemblies. The drilling cutting insert contains a drilling cutting insert body having a first cutting end opposite the second mounting end, first and second side mounting surfaces and a first guide surface opposite the second guide surface on the outer diameter of the body, and a rotation axis. The first cutting end of the drilling cutting insert body has cutting edges associated therewith. The first and second side mounting surfaces together install the cutting insert relative to the drilling cutting insert holder. The first and second guide surfaces form an area of interaction with the side of the drilled hole in its area. The areas of interaction have front and rear ends. Spaced coolant supply passages extend through the interaction regions from a leading edge to a trailing edge of the interaction regions to allow coolant to flow through the interaction regions and adjacent the rear end of the interaction regions on the outer diameter of the drilling insert body.

EFFECT: reduces friction, generates heat while maintaining high stability and prevents accumulation of materials on the surfaces of drilling cutting inserts along the outer diameter of the cutting insert.
