FIELD: food industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a food composition for preventing the onset of cognitive disorders. The dietary supplement contains from 50 to 170 mg/g of a mixture of stearidonic acid (SDA), alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), from 10 to 25 mg/g of fucoxanthin, from 1 to 6 mg/g of sterols, from 2 to 40 μg/g of phycoprostan and coconut oil. For the preparation of the food additive, microalgae selected from Pinguiophyceae, Chrysophyceae, Bacillariophyceae, Mamiellophyceae, Prymnesiophyceae, Haptophyceae, Coccolithophyceae, Isochrysidaceae and Phaeodactylaceae are used.
EFFECT: dietary supplement is used to prevent the onset of age-related cognitive impairment, defined as non-pathological decline in cognitive function, or cognitive impairment in children or young adults exposed to prenatal stress that causes non-pathological impairment.
