FIELD: engine construction.
SUBSTANCE: used to confirm the required reliability of liquid-propellant rocket engines (LPRE) for manned launch vehicles. A method for testing liquid-propellant rocket engines to determine reliability, including life-cycle tests of 5 liquid-propellant rocket engines to the limiting state, each cycle of life-cycle tests of engines is carried out during the flight service life, characterized in that LPRE tests are carried out at the nominal pressure in the chamber and the nominal ratio of fuel components, based on the results of which the technical resource is determined - the average value of the fire operating time T and the standard deviation of the technical service life of engine σT.
EFFECT: providing a 1.2-1.5 times reduction in thermal and vibration loads on the tested engines at nominal mode to determine reliability in comparison with such loads when testing engines at operating modes.
