SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of local radio navigation and radio communications and is aimed at ensuring situational awareness of a group of moving objects. Proposed method for monitoring the spatiotemporal state of a group of moving objects is based on the interaction of N equal mobile objects of the group, identical in technical equipment, which include technical means: a device for collecting data and calculating coordinates, a display, a standard radio station, a standard headset, a monitoring control unit, and a reference navigation station (RNS) equipped with a transceiver with known local coordinates. The method ensures mutual awareness of each mobile object about the spatio-temporal state of all the mobile objects in the group by determining the mobile object’s own local coordinates based on the value of the time interval proportional to the distance between the mobile object and the RNS, measured by the mobile object in a request manner, and determining the local coordinates of others by the mobile object mobile objects of the group based on the measured values of the time intervals between the request signals of other mobile objects and the response signals of the RNS to the requests of other mobile objects, received by the technical means of the mobile object, using the information about the mobile object’s own local coordinates. A direction finder is additionally included in the RNS, which provides measurement of the bearing of a moving object relative to the RNS when receiving a range request signal generated by the radio station of the moving object and transmitting the measured bearing value to the transceiver, which includes the bearing value in the range response signal for the moving object.

EFFECT: monitoring of the spatio-temporal state of a group of moving objects using one RNS with known local coordinates.
