FIELD: computer technology.

SUBSTANCE: slave computer for connecting the device and the host computer contains: a USB port having pins one through five; a power source switch connected to the first and the fourth pin terminals; an RS232 module designed to perform conversion, based on the RS232 standard, between the levels of a signal to be transmitted to a device and a signal to be received from a device; a resistor connected between the fourth and the fifth pin terminals; and a power source having a positive terminal; wherein the positive terminal is connected to the first pin terminal. The RS232 module is connected to the first pin via a power source switch; and the power source switch is configured so that, in response to the level at the fourth pin being a high level, the power source switch turns on a conductive path between the positive terminal and the RS232 module.

EFFECT: improved security and reliability of communication between the device and the host computer.
