FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns testing and design of testing equipment, in particular stands for testing bearing units of rail vehicles and methods for testing bearings of axle box units. The stand contains an axle of a wheelset mounted on support bearings with their supports, while the axle with the test bearings is installed through adapters in the axle box openings of the side frames of the bogie, an electric motor with a transmission for rotating the axle. The device for creating a radial load is a vertically located hydraulic cylinder installed between the stand frame, racks and a pivot beam simulator. A device for creating an axial alternating load, which is a horizontally located double-acting hydraulic cylinder, the mounting flanges of which are connected to the side frames of the trolley. The method consists in installing the test bearings on the axle of the wheelset and loading them to the calculated radial load from a vertically located hydraulic cylinder through a simulator of a pivot beam, a thrust bearing, a bolster, a spring set, side frames and adapters. The electric motor with the transmission is driven and thus the axis rotates. Then an axial alternating load is applied to the bearing under test through the side frames using a horizontally located double-acting hydraulic cylinder, the mounting flanges of which are connected to the side frames of the bogie.
EFFECT: simplifying the design of the stand, increasing the reliability of the stand and ensuring the application of forces equivalent to operational forces during testing.
