FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method is proposed for determining changes in the linear dimensions of parts with temperature changes, according to which the temperature of the part is changed and the displacement of the part's measuring point relative to an element with a known value of the CTLR coefficient is measured. To measure this displacement, a small-diameter roller is used, installed between sections of the flat surface of this element and the part under study. The axis of rotation of this roller is located in a plane normal to this displacement, and a dial indicator is installed on this roller. The dial indicator allows finding the angle of rotation of this roller when the temperature of this part changes. To increase the reliability of this method, the roller should be installed between the flat, parallel surfaces of parts made of hard rubber, glued to the mating parts. The inventive method differs from known methods in that the displacement of two points of a part relative to two elements with different values of the CTLR coefficient is measured. For each of these two measurement points, its own element with a known value of the CTLR coefficient is used. It is desirable that these auxiliary elements be made of materials with noticeably different (but known) CTLR coefficient values (for example, steel and aluminum with known CTLR coefficient values).
EFFECT: increase in the reliability of measuring changes in the linear dimensions of overall parts with temperature changes.
