SUBSTANCE: invention is related to an absorbent article (10, 20, 300, 500, 600) containing an absorbent core (101, 501, 60) located between a liquid-permeable top sheet (520, 620) and a liquid-impermeable bottom sheet (521, 621), and a receiving distribution layer (522, 622) located between said top sheet (520, 620) and said absorbent core (101, 501, 601), wherein the absorbent core (101, 501, 601) contains an absorbent material selected from group consisting of cellulose fibres, superabsorbent polymers and combinations thereof, wherein said absorbent core (101, 501, 601) comprises at least one interconnected channel (106) free of said absorbent material, said channel (106) having a length, extending along the longitudinal axis (48), and the absorbent core (101, 501, 601) having a length extending along the specified longitudinal axis (48), and the length of the specified channel (106) is from 10% to 95% of the length of the specified absorbent core (101, 501, 601).

EFFECT: according to the invention, the receiving distribution layer (522, 622) contains a layer of spunbond and/or carded nonwoven material comprising synthetic fibres, wherein said synthetic fibres are contained in an amount greater than 80 wt.% relative to the weight of the specified receiving distribution layer (522, 622), wherein said receiving distribution layer (522, 622) has a base weight of from 10 to 50 g/m².
