FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of diagnosing asymmetry of movements in children with jaw deformities. A stabilometric study is carried out in a two-platform modification, including the placement of one stabilometric platform under each lower limb. The standard deviation of the center of pressure in the sagittal plane (y), the standard deviation of the center of pressure in the frontal plane (x), linear velocity (V) and angular velocity (Ω) movements of pressure centers under the left and right lower extremities are measured, the movement asymmetry index (MAI) is calculated using the formula:

where l is the left lower limb, r is the right lower limb. With MAI values from 1.2 to 1.4, a slight degree of asymmetry of movements is diagnosed, with values from 1.5 to 2, a moderate degree of asymmetry of movements is diagnosed, and with values greater than 2, a pronounced degree of asymmetry of movements is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method provides high reliability in assessing the asymmetry of the musculoskeletal system in pediatric patients and makes it possible to monitor its dynamics.
