FIELD: wood products.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions is related to a method for manufacturing a product from compacted wood, to a product from compacted wood that can be obtained using the method, to the use of an aqueous composition of phenol-formaldehyde resin for impregnating wood in the process of manufacturing products from compacted wood, and to the use of products from compacted wood. Vacuum impregnation of a wooden product with a resin composition is performed at a pressure below 0.01 bar and for a period of time from 10 to 240 minutes. The resin content in the wooden product after vacuum impregnation is preferably from 25 to 45, more preferably from 30 to 40% of the weight of the unimpregnated wooden product. The resulting impregnated wooden product is dried, including the drying stage in an oven at a temperature from 50 to 80°C for a period of 48 to 60 hours. A compressive force is applied to the dried impregnated wood product to reduce the thickness to a final thickness ranging from 25% to 80% of the initial thickness. The temperature of the dried impregnated wooden product is increased to cure the impregnated phenol-formaldehyde resin from 150 to 200°C. The resulting compacted wood product is cooled.

EFFECT: density, hardness, and abrasion resistance increase, the strength properties of wood improve, and recovery after shrinkage decreases.
