FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the method of reduction of formaldehyde release in wood materials by application of nitrous compounds. The method includes (i) application of a mixture, containing at least polyamine and, if required, up to 20 wt % carbamide relative to the mixture weight, onto a wooden material; (ii) application of polyamine on or into a formed stock of a wood chipboard or a fibrous carpet; (iii) application of polyamine onto a coating substrate, which is to be used for surface treatment, and/or (iv) application of polyamine onto open areas; besides, polyamine has molecular weight of at least 500 g/mol, and at least 6 primary or secondary amino groups.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to reduce release of formaldehyde without reduction of mechanical properties and coverage of wood materials, type and strength of surface treatment, release of formaldehyde via open sections of a wood material with treated surface.
