FIELD: pipeline transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to protect against internal corrosion of a current-insulating connection of two pipeline sections caused by external electrochemical protection of one of the pipeline sections. The method includes installing an internal dielectric element into the current-insulating connection. The dielectric element is applied to the inner surface of the pipeline section by sealing one end of the dielectric element at the end of the current-insulating connection and freely introducing the second end of the dielectric connection. The second end protrudes beyond the current-insulating connection into the cavity of the pipeline to a length that makes it possible to eliminate the leakage current of the protective potential through the pumped electrically conductive medium or reduce it to such a value at which internal corrosion of the current-insulating connection would take longer than the service life of the entire pipeline. When inserting a current-insulating connection into an existing pipeline, the dielectric element is made of an elastic dielectric material, which is introduced into the pipeline in the direction of movement of the pumped medium. When inserting a current-insulating connection during pipeline construction, the dielectric element is made of solid dielectric material.

EFFECT: method reduces the complexity of implementing the method, allows you to reduce the length of the metal part of the current-insulating connection and the installation length, which is important in cramped installation conditions.
