METHOD OF PROTECTION AGAINST CORROSION OF THE PIPELINES TRANSPORTING THE HIGH WATERING PETROLEUM Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: petroleum industry.

SUBSTANCE: the invention presents a method of protection against corrosion of the pipelines transporting the high watering petroleum and is dealt with the petroleum industry. The method may find application at protection against corrosion at the pipelines under construction or repair used for collection and preparation of petroleum with high watering. The method ensures an increase of reliability of protection against corrosion for the pipelines transporting the high watering petroleum. The method provides for application of an insulating coating in the form of polyethylene extruded onto the pipes. Then they conduct an electric separation of the protected section from the basic pipeline using dielectric inserts with a length from 0.02 up to 10 diameters of the pipeline. The inserts are mounted on the ends and branches of the pipelines. At pipes laying the works on insulation of joints of pipes are conducted with achievement of values of the transient resistance of the pipelines insulation up to 1 x 10⁵ ohm · m² and more. Connection of the protection current is executed on the endpoints of the pipelines and at the distance of 3-5 meters from the protected pipeline.

EFFECT: the invention ensures an increase of reliability of protection against corrosion for the pipelines transporting the high watering petroleum.
