FIELD: carbon fibers.

SUBSTANCE: method for producing finished carbon fibers and polyetheretherketone composites based on them used as structural polymer materials for the production of special-purpose products in additive processes. A method has been proposed for producing finished carbon fibers by applying a sizing composition, which is a mixture of oligomeric etheretherketone based on 4,4'-dioxyphthalophenone and 4,4'-difluorobenzophenone with a degree of polycondensation n=5-7 (OEEK-57) and 4,4'- diaminobiphenyl (DBPh) onto carbon fiber from solution followed by drying, and the quantitative ratio of the components is (wt.%): carbon fiber - 95.5; OEEK-57 - 1.0-3.5; DBPh - 3.5-1.0. A polyetheretherketone composite based on polyetheretherketone and carbon fiber obtained by the proposed method is also proposed.

EFFECT: reduction of duration of the carbon fiber sizing process and improving the physical, mechanical and rheological properties of the created polyetheretherketone composite due to the introduction of a sizing composition that increases the wettability of the filler and enhances the intermolecular interactions between the carbon fiber and the polyetheretherketone matrix.
