FIELD: glass fibre materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing sized glass fibres and polymer compositions based on them intended as structural polymer materials for production of special-purpose products in additive technologies. The method involves sizing glass fibre by applying a sizing composition from a solution, followed by drying in a drying oven under vacuum at 93-94 °C. After this, the sizing composition is applied from a solution with a mass concentration of 0.75% in an organic, highly volatile solvent - ethyl alcohol of the head fraction. Then kept in an ultrasonic bath at 20 °C and ultrasonic power of 35 kHz - 7 min, then a stepwise increase in temperature is carried out with simultaneous distillation of the solvent and exposure to ultrasound with an operating power of 35 kHz according to the following mode: 35 °C - 10 min; 50 °C - 5 min; 60 °C - 10 min; 85 °C – 10 min. The resulting finished fibre contains: glass fibre- 95.5 wt. %, 4,4'-dioxydiphenyl (DODP) - 1.0÷3.5 wt.%, 2,6-toluenediamine (2,6-TDA) - 3.5÷1.0 wt.%.
EFFECT: ability to improve compressive strength of the created polymer glass fibre composition by introducing a sizing composition that increases wettability of the filler and increases intermolecular interactions between the glass fibre and the polyetherimide matrix.
