FIELD: chemical synthesis.
SUBSTANCE: method for producing α, β, β -trifluorostyrene, including the interaction of 2-bromotetrafluoropropionic acid methyl ester with iodobenzene and metallic copper at 90-120° C in a polar aprotic solvent to form methyl esterα -phenyltetrafluoropropionic acid, its isolation by steam distillation followed by fractionation under reduced pressure, the reaction of the latter with potassium hydroxide in methanol, evaporation of the reaction mixture and decarboxylation of the resulting potassium saltα -phenyltetrafluoropropionic acid by heating in a polar aprotic solvent to 110-130°C with simultaneous distillationα ,β ,β -trifluorostyrene in vacuum with the addition of a polymerization inhibitor.
EFFECT: creation of a new synthesis methodα ,β ,β - trifluorostyrene from available feedstock, which does not require the use of special equipment for operating under high pressure and in an inert atmosphere.
