FIELD: production of single-crystal titanium trisulphide.

SUBSTANCE: method has been proposed for the synthesis of titanium trisulphide crystals by heating a sealed ampoule filled with the maximum amount of sulphur under gradient conditions, where the transport medium is liquid sulphur, and a titanium charge is located at the hotter end, and the temperature of the hot end of the ampoule is 500-600°C, and the temperature of the cold end of the ampoule is lower by 30-100°C.

EFFECT: reproducible and safe production of large TiS3 crystals.
