FIELD: single-crystal iron oxoselenide synthesis.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the synthesis of single-crystal iron oxoselenide α- and β-crystalline modifications. The method for the synthesis of crystals of iron oxoselenide α-Fe2SeO and β-Fe2SeO of crystalline modifications includes the growth of crystals by heating a sealed ampoule with a charge containing selenium, iron and selenium oxide placed at one end, filled with an alkali metal chloride salt, while selenium oxide is placed separately from a mixture of iron and selenium, heating the ampoule is carried out at a temperature gradient of 740-680°C from the side of the charge to a temperature reduced by 30-100°C from the opposite side, a salt melt of pure cesium chloride or its eutectic mixture is used as an alkali metal chloride salt. Composition with KCI, and/or NaCl, and/or RbCl, and crystal growth is carried out within 15-20 days.

EFFECT: reproducible production of larger Fe2SeO crystals with a decrease in the temperature of their synthesis.
